As of today, a passenger was arrested after a Malaysian Airlines flight from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur was forced to turn around mid flight due to “unruly passenger behavior.”
In a statement, Malaysian Airlines confirmed that the aircraft landed safely back in Sydney at 10.45am local time, and the passenger was removed by the Australian Federal Police (AFP).
The airline also stated that the other passengers and crew members of the flight were unharmed and have been taken care of appropriately. Australian police are currently conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the incident.
At this stage, it is unclear as to what the passenger’s intentions were or why he became unruly. Malaysian airlines has said they are working with the relevant authorities to provide any assistance, and they apologise for the inconvenience caused to their passengers.
