NYC Mayor Adams responds to Gov. Hochul’s federal funding push, claims city’s handled migrant crisis ‘alone’

by

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio released a statement in response to New York Governor Andrew Hochul’s push for additional federal funding for the city to handle the migrant crisis. De Blasio said that the city has been handling the situation “solo” and that the city requires “immediate help from our partners in Washington and Albany.” De Blasio’s comments come shortly after Hochul called on the federal government to provide additional financial resources and personnel to help the city while it deals with the influx of migrants. He emphasised that the city has significant longterm economic and social costs associated with the situation, and that the federal government must provide assistance to prevent the city’s fiscal crisis from worsening.
