Vladyslav Voloshyn, a well-known Ukrainian pilot popularly known as “Juice,” has died after the plane he was flying crashed into a river in the Rivne region in western Ukraine. He was one of three people on board who were killed in the crash.
Voloshyn was the chief pilot of Tandem Aero, a Ukrainian airline, and was the lead pilot on multiple Ukrainian television shows. He had been a pilot since 2010 and had earned certification to fly at night and in different weather conditions.
The other two passengers on board the plane were identified as Oleg Fakhodenko, the owner of Tandem Aero, and Yuri Rohocko, a director and assistant producer at the Kieve Television Company.
Local authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash and say that the plane had been scheduled to land in Kiev around the time it went down. No distress calls were made before the crash.
Voloshyn was widely respected and admired in Ukraine for his skill and experience as a pilot. Thousands of people have paid tribute to him on social media, with many praising him for his dedication to aviation.
