Eleven people were taken to a hospital for evaluation after a Delta Air Lines flight at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta encountered severe turbulence. The flight, from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, safely landed in Atlanta shortly before 1:30 p.m. ET. Flight attendants asked for medical personnel to meet the plane and a total of 10 passengers and one flight attendant were taken to local hospitals for evaluation. The airline says none of the injuries appear to be serious at this time. The aircraft has since taxied to the gate and customers have disembarked.
