At this time, Ukrainian forces have not officially reported any penetration of the first line of Russian defense on the southern front. This is likely due to Russia’s considerable forces on the ground, which include a large amount of military hardware and equipment, as well as a wide range of professional and irregular forces. Ukraine does, however, have a well-equipped and experienced volunteer army that has managed to regain some territory from the invading Russian forces. For now, it appears that Ukrainian forces are actively engaged in a defensive stance and are biding their time to formulate a more comprehensive strategy for defending their sovereignty against Russian aggression.
