The U.S. economy added 187,000 jobs in August, much higher than the 160,000 jobs expected by economists. The unemployment rate rose slightly to 3.7 percent from 3.7 percent in July. Wages grew by 3.2 percent over the year. The U.S. has now added jobs for a record 105 straight months, with the job market near full employment with employers having difficulty finding qualified workers.
