According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), Hurricane Lee has strengthened to a Category 5 storm in the Atlantic. The storm is located approximately 600 miles east of the Leeward Islands and is moving west at 15 mph.

Currently, the storm has maximum sustained winds of 160 mph and is expected to remain at Category 5 strength over the next 24 hours.

Unfortunately, the long-term impact of Hurricane Lee is still uncertain. The NHC notes that there is still considerable uncertainty as to where the storm will make landfall, and whether or not it will pose a threat to the United States east coast.
