US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, visited Kyiv on April 2 to reaffirm the Biden administration’s commitment to supporting Ukraine for the long haul. In a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Blinken assured the Ukrainian people of America’s dedication to their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He stressed the growing importance of Ukraine and its people in the new US-Russian relationship, and highlighted the US’s commitment to helping Ukraine establish strong democratic institutions and strengthen its economy. Additionally, he praised Ukraine’s progress in implementing judicial reform and pointed to the importance of continuing such momentum. Above all, Secretary Blinken reaffirmed the Biden administration’s commitment to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression in the Donbas region and Crimea.
