Zelensky is clearly not in favor of a compromise with Putin, pointing to the death of Russian businessman and Kremlin-linked entrepreneur Yevgeny Prigozhin. Prigozhin was targeted by U.S. sanctions for his role as a “backroom dealer” in the Russian government and was linked to mercenaries fighting in Syria and Ukraine on behalf of the Kremlin. By citing Prigozhin’s death, Zelensky is demonstrating that he feels any type of compromise with the Russian President is not an option.
