Yes, there is evidence that Israeli ground forces are closing in on Gaza City according to satellite imagery and videos. According to the BBC, Israeli ground troops have moved to within 1km of Gaza City and have been exchanging artillery fire with Palestinian militants. Satellite images have also shown Israeli forces near the outskirts of Gaza City, along with military vehicles and other equipment. Interestingly, the imagery also shows that some of this equipment, such as tanks, has been moved inside the city itself. Videos have also emerged of Israeli forces engaging in close-quarter battle with Palestinian militants inside the city.
