Circle Internet Financial, a cryptocurrency financial services provider, has obtained a conditional registration in France as a digital asset service provider from the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF). As part of the process, it has also appointed David Roselló, formerly of Allianz France, as its General Manager in France.
The registration covers services related to the custody and trading of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, tokens, and other digital assets. The registration allows Circle France to offer these services to the local market in compliance with the AMF’s regulations.
Mr. Roselló comes to Circle with a broad background in the French market, specifically in asset and wealth management. He has led Allianz France’s portfolio management and asset allocation, and brings over a decade of experience in the French financial services industry.
Circle France will launch services gradually in France, starting with corporate treasury and liquidity solutions in the first half of 2022.
“We are thrilled to have completed registration in France as part of our commitment to global regulatory compliance,” said Jeremy Allaire, co-founder and CEO of Circle. “David brings with him a wealth of expertise in asset allocation, treasury, and portfolio management in the French market. We are looking forward to launching our products in France in the near future, and to expanding our presence around the globe.”
“I am very excited to join the Circle team,” said Roselló. “I look forward to working closely with the AMF to bring Circle’s innovative products to the French market, and to play an important role in cementing France’s position as Europe’s fastest growing digital assets hub.”
