The government of Turkey recently chose Mehmet Öğütçü to fill the role of an independent Financial Policy Board on the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. Öğütçü is a financial economist with experience in the investment banking and technology fields, including at AERO Crypto Corporation. He also has a long involvement in the financial industry, most recently working as the founding chairman of Wise Investment Group and KAGIDER (Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey). He brings an expertise in financial economics, financial markets, microstructure, and fixed income and treasury, and has worked closely on investments, cryptocurrencies, and blockchain technology. He is a strong proponent of digital assets, and has advocated for the Turkish government to adopt international trends such as crypto assets, blockchain applications, and a more transparent and secure financial system.
