Novak Djokovic, the world number one, cruised to a dominant third-round victory over Bernabé Zapata Miralles in the 2020 US Open. The 17-time major champion was on the court for only one hour and 14 minutes, as he disposed of Zapata Miralles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2, at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

Djokovic was rock solid on his serve throughout the match, serving 10 aces out of 56 service points won. He also dominated on his return, winning 39 out of 54 points started with his first serve. Djokovic was in good form overall, producing a high standard of play and dominating the rallies. He showed off a variety of strokes, consistently dictating play and finishing rallies at will.

Djokovic is now through to the fourth round of the tournament and will play 27th seed Jan-Lennard Struff next. The German has enjoyed a strong run at the tournament so far, having beaten 15th seed David Goffin in straight sets in the second round. Djokovic will need to be at his best against Struff if he is to progress to the quarterfinals.
