Elon Musk cannot remove the verification badge given to the New York Times’ Twitter account. The verification badge is used by Twitter to indicate that an account is either operated by the person or entity that it claims to be, or that the account is of public interest. As an individual user, Musk has no authority to change the badge for any account. The badge can only be removed by Twitter itself.
