Forensic analysis of images and videos of the incident at Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza has revealed that a rocket, not an Israeli airstrike, was the cause of the blast. The footage showed the rocket originating from outside the hospital, not from an Israeli aircraft. The analysis conducted by CNN found that the rocket left a tell-tale trail of smoke and that it was the only such object visible in the videos and images of the incident.
The analysis also showed that the rocket was rocket propelled and its trajectory indicated a trajectory that would have likely impacted the hospital with considerable force. Additionally, the visible blast waves of the explosion and smoke concentration suggested that a larger warhead caused the blast.
The video and images analyzed also did not indicate an Israeli airstrike as the cause of the explosion. Instead, the analysis revealed that the only source of the explosion was most likely a single self-propelled rocket launched from outside the hospital.
