If an astronaut accidentally drops a tool bag during a spacewalk, it would continue to drift away from the International Space Station (ISS). Since the ISS orbits Earth almost
400 km (248 miles) above the atmosphere, the tool bag would remain in space forever and never be seen again. In addition, it is unlikely that the tool bag would ever collide with the ISS and cause any damage.
