This comes after a period of significant delays, caused by necessary steps put in place to keep both customers and employees safe. New applicants can expect to receive their passports within four to six weeks, and renewing applicants can expect to receive them within three to four weeks. This, however, still may take longer than pre-pandemic levels due to staffing shortages in some processing centers across the country. Customers are encouraged to plan accordingly when applying for their passport.
