Russia has been pounding Ukraine with missiles for weeks, with over 500 recorded last week alone. This comes after a supposed ceasefire was agreed between Russia and Ukraine.
The Polish Air Force has stated that their aim is to protect Polish airspace and that they are ready to respond quickly if necessary. They also state that they will be ready to intervene if any threats to national airspace arise.
In addition, the Polish Ministry of Defense has warned that any breach of Polish airspace will be met with “adequate countermeasures”.
