As of May 13, 2020, Southwest Airlines has temporarily suspended its EarlyBird Check-In service due to recent changes in their boarding process in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The new boarding process is intended to increase physical distancing between customers and employees. Rather than boarding the aircraft in order of their EarlyBird Check-In position, customers will now be boarding in small random groups. Customers will no longer be able to purchase a better spot in the boarding line with this service.
