President Trump has recently been engaged in a public feud with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over China tariffs. Trump baselessly claimed that DeSantis supported tariffs on Chinese imports and accused him of “taxing the hell out of Florida”.
DeSantis immediately rejected Trump’s claims and accused him of being uninformed. He said that he had never once supported tariffs and had been actively working against them in order to protect Florida’s economy.
The entire dispute appears to be manufactured by Trump in an effort to score political points and gain support in the Florida gubernatorial race scheduled for 2022.
